L-ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) is a vitamin added to various food products as a nutrient or antioxidant. This time, L-ascorbicacid in a drink was assaved by U-5100 spectrophotometer. When analvzed in the range of2 - 6 mg/L by using a colorreagent kit, a good calibration curve with a correlaion coefficient of R? = 0.9999 was obtained and it was found that Lascorbic acid was contained at 1.1 mg/L (the original solution was diluted to 100 times) in the drink. When an additionrecovery test was conducted, a good recovery rate of 97.7 + 0.1% was obtained. This reagent kit allows the simplespectrophotometric assay.
